Turmeric Ginger Shots

TIME: 10 minutes
TASTE: Spicy & Tangy
ACTIONS: Immune-Boosting

1 large orange
1 medium lemon
1-1.5 inches ginger root
1-2 inches turmeric root
1-2 dashes ground black pepper
1-2 dashes cayenne pepper
*add as much or as little of the roots and spices as you prefer (within the guidelines)

(masticating juicer, no blade)
1. Cut the peel off the orange and the lemon and cut them into 1” chunks.
2. Wash the ginger and turmeric roots and cut them into 1cm chunks.
*Don’t remove the skin, unless it’s gnarly or really dirty and can’t be cleaned.
3. Process all pre-cut ingredients through your juicer, as per the juicer instructions.
4. Strain juice through a sieve to discard remaining pulp.
5. Add black pepper and cayenne pepper in amounts to your liking.
6. Drink by itself in 1-2oz. increments when feeling a cold coming on, or for cold prevention.

Using a Centrifugal Juicer (bladed)?
Skip cutting the fruits & roots, just remove the citrus peel and cut small enough to fit in the juicer.

No Juicer? Use a Blender Instead:
1. Remove peel and seeds from fruits.
2. Place fruits & roots into blender and blend on high for 45 seconds, then add spices.
3. Either strain out pulp and enjoy cold, or mix 1-2oz with 1C boiled filtered water, steep, filter out pulp & enjoy.
