Our Commercial Drive Acupuncture practitioners, Jill Truscott, R.A.c and Vanessa Claros, R.A.c  are Registered Acupuncturists in good standing with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncturists of BC.

About Registered Acupuncturists:

Acupuncture is a 3,000-year-old healing technique of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It improves the body’s functions and promotes the natural self-healing process.

Along with acupuncture, registered acupuncturists may use ear seeds (that are placed on acupressure points in the ear) and cupping to relax muscles tension, decrease fascial adhesions and release trigger points.

Hundreds of clinical studies on the benefits of acupuncture show that it successfully treats conditions ranging from:

  • musculoskeletal problems (such as back, neck, shoulder pain)
  • nausea
  • migraine headaches
  • anxiety & depression
  • insomnia
  • infertility

About Your Appointment:

Initial Visit:

Your first visit is 75 minutes and includes a comprehensive and in-depth intake. Your acupuncturist will then come up with a treatment plan unique to your health concerns, and an acupuncture treatment will be given. Other modalities which may be used include cupping therapy, moxibustion, gua sha, as well as lifestyle and dietary recommendations.

Subsequent Visit:

Each follow-up visit, will consist of a quick check in, assessment and treatment to continue to help you toward achieving your optimal health.

Cervical Ripening:

Cervical ripening treatments start at 36 weeks and continue regularly until the delivery. The focus is on ripening the cervix and preparing the body for the labour. A soft (ripe) cervix facilitates a better birth, reduces your need for pain medication and lowers your risk of needing a caesarean section. *If it is your first visit please book an Initial Acupuncture Visit.*
