My goal as a counsellor is to provide an emotionally-safe space, free of judgement and expectation, where we can explore the barriers that stand in the way of you feeling healthy, hopeful, and whole. I collaborate with my clients using a client-centered approach, to work on whatever you bring into the session.
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor, with a Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology (Adler University). I have experience offering group and individual therapy to adults struggling with addiction, depression, anxiety, grief, relationship and attachment issues, trauma, and PTSD. I also have experience studying and working with individuals and families impacted by dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease.
I draw from several counselling approaches, including Emotion-Focused therapy (EFT), Cognitive-Behavioural therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-based practices, and Narrative techniques. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy for the treatment of trauma and PTSD.
I offer sliding scale rates as I believe that counselling should be available to those who need it. If cost is a barrier to you, please contact me to discuss rate. My services are covered by some health insurance benefits. You can contact your extended benefits provider to inquire about coverage amount.
